How come my computer wont let me play any of my computer games anymore?
Like the oregon trail 3rd edition, roller coaster tycoon, and the sims and the original oregon trail. I love those games but when i put them in the computer wont even acknowledge the games. When I use to be able to play those games. Why is that? Thanks.

could be a problem of the CD drive. try putting in other games/software and see if they automatically load on your screen. those games are pretty old, check the bottom of the CD’s to see if they are clean with not too many scratches.
maybe it is because. it wont let you play because your computer have some viruses. errors. && things of the like. with those around, part of the programs you are trying to run will be erased.
how can’t you play those games? is the game not loading or no screen pops up? Right now, i dont know how the games not working. Try clicking on the icon on your desktop, or go into the cd files and click around.
Firstly are you using a different computer now to when you had when you played the games?
Have you checked for software updates/patches for the games?
What operating system are you using now? What does the game recommend??
Have you got directx installed? www. microsoft. com/directx (you need this installed to play most games).
Are your drivers uptodate and current? What about the updates from Windows update?

probably the CDs are not in a good shape anymore, if you can try some other CDs to know what is the problem. . if all CDs are not working, then it is something wrong with your CD Rom, try to clean it using a CD Rom cleaner, if still not working i recomment you show it to a specialist, then he can say if to replace it or not
Probably because your computers hard drive malfunctioned. You could fix it (the disk inserter) at radio shack or something.
