I bought this game for my 9 year old nephew for Christmas and he really enjoyed it. It’s less intimidating than the numerical version of Sudoku and he caught on fairly fast. His 4 year old brother even helped put in the marbles in the right places and while he didn’t quite understand the rules he seemed to enjoy trying to catch on. The wooden board it comes with is very sturdy and well crafted. My only complaint would be that the maker of the toy doesn’t supply any holding container for all of the colored marbles, so it’s a bit cumbersome to put away when you’re done. However, I would recommend this game to any parent who enjoys Sudoku and wants to teach their children the game! The best part about it is that any Sudoku puzzle you can find online is easily translatable to this version. I highly recommend it!

What is great about this game is you never have to put it away. It can be set up on your coffee table and played anytime you need a distraction from your day. I always leave a game set up ready for play and enjoy taking little breaks throughout the day to play. Visiting guests are instantly drawn to it for a quick game.

Couple things. . . . I agree with several other writers that some of the colors are difficult to distinguish, especially red and orange. Also, as with Sudoku, you are given a preset number of balls as a head start (depending on difficulty level). However, once you begin playing the game, there is no way to distinguish between the balls you started with and the balls you have placed yourself unless you refer back to the game card. A simple solution would be to just put a mark on one side of each ball. Place the balls with the mark facing up for pre-set balls, and with the mark facing down for player placed balls. (if you already own the game, a simple magic marker dot can solve this). Finally, this is a game it is fun to take with you places, the original box makes travel easy for the game and the balls, but once you have assembled the game card box, the game cards no longer fit in the original box. . .

All these issues are easily compensated for and in no way deter from the fun you will have with the game. I love the game and highly recommend it to all.

My SIL received this as a Christmas present last year. After playing it with her a couple of times, we decided that we needed to buy one for our family. We have been playing it almost constantly since Christmas. The colored balls make the Sudoku puzzles very visual. Even my 5 year old likes to help. My kids will sit around with me and use logic to help solve the puzzles. It teaches them to reason things out. My husband and I have been solving the really hard puzzles at night after the kids go to bed. There is a color code included that allows you to convert any Sudoku puzzle to Colorku.

This game challenges the left and right side of the brain. You must organize and recognize the colors which is not as easy as the number version. I used the plastic cover to sort the colored balls but later I will place them all in a bowl which will make for a bigger challenge.

The only problem I have had is distinguishing colors on the puzzle cards. The contrast between colors should be sharper, bolder.

I love this game!! Very addictive. It would be nice if it came with a bag or something to hold the marbles, which are very easy to lose. This game is easy to learn and keeps your mind working :-)
